David Godfrey qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1988. For the first six years after qualification he was an assistant in small animal practices; mainly in London and Canada. He passed the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Dermatology in 1993 and the Certificate of Small Animal Medicine in 1995. From 1994-2004 he was a partner and main clinician in a primary and referral, feline-only practice; seeing referrals in dermatology, general internal medicine and some soft tissue surgery. In 1998 he was awarded the Diploma of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Feline Practice. He is currently an examiner for the Cert SAM. He has research interests in aspects of feline medicine.
