The Axiom Veterinary Laboratories St. Helens Laboratory
is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm and is situated at 52 Cowley Hill Lane, St.
Helens and will serve veterinary practices within a thirty mile radius.
A courier service is provided and samples received at the laboratory by
12.30pm will be reported back to the practice the same day.
A discount will be available for samples where no differential
is performed.
The courier provided will also take samples for onward
processing at our main facility in Devon.

Blood films will automatically be forwarded to our main
laboratory, after analysis in St.Helens.
If further investigation is requested, then the film is available to our
clinical pathologists who will perform further investigation and provide
an interpretation. The cost of this further service
will be £10.00 per sample. |

The standard profile available from the laboratory is
as follows:-
Biochemistry:
Protein, Albumin, Urea, Creatinine, Bilirubin, ALKP, ALT, AST, GGT, Calcium,
Phosphate, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Glucose.
Haematology:
Full blood counts, platelet count, differential, including a manual differential
on all samples. Please note that a manual differential will only be available
during normal working hours.
Samples:
Biochemistry samples for the London Laboratory should be 0.5 - 1 ml of serum/heparin
plasma.
For glucose, use fluoride/oxalate.
Haematology samples should be on EDTA.
Regular FREE pickups within a 30-mile radius of St. Helens.
Manchester, Chester, Bolton Birkenhead, Liverpool, Wirral.
Pick UP BEFORE 12.30am same day service for routine biochemistry,
haematology, CSF analysis, Joint Fluid examination, Ear Cytology, Urine
analysis, Ionised calcium and Electrolytes.
Pick up after 12.30am same day results cannot be guaranteed.
All samples will be reported by next day or as appropriate. |
