AXIOM'S
CLINICAL SCHOLAR
AxiomVetLab - Clinical Scholar in Veterinary Clinical Pathology
at Bristol University |
Pictured are Peter Webb (MD) Axiom Vet Lab,
Mark Pinches the current AxiomVetLab clinical scholar, Emma Dewhurst the
former Petsavers clinical scholar who has joined the team at Axiom '2003
and Kostas Papasouliotis, Bristol University Veterinary School. |
The Department of Clinical Veterinary Science at Bristol
University was one of the first Veterinary Departments to offer a training
programme leading to a specialist post-graduate qualification in Veterinary
Clinical Pathology. When the previous three-year Petsavers scholarship was
completed, Kostas Papasouliotis entered into discussions with Axiom Veterinary
Laboratories to continue the sponsorship of this training programme.
Axiom Veterinary Labs were keen to promote training in
Veterinary Clinical Pathology and as a result a unique collaboration was
established between the two parties.
Peter Webb (MD) of Axiom Veterinary Labs, commented:
"This is a superb opportunity to share expertise and information, which
will enhance the already high reputations that Bristol University and Axiom
have in the field of Veterinary Clinical Pathology". Kostas Papasouliotis
lecturer in Clinical Pathology at Bristol said, "Our aspiration
is that after the three-year training our scholar will contribute to the
development of veterinary clinical pathology in either an academic or commercial post. Collaborations between commercial diagnostic
labs and veterinary schools can turn this aspiration into reality". |
